Reduced
Higher, more powerful pumps are not required to transport liquids and gases. This also means that there is very little change in pressure from high to low, ensuring smooth operation of pipework components.
No Stem
Valves do not include a stem section that pops up and down in response to movement. As a result, no gas or liquid will flow out of the pipeline when the valve is closed or open.
Simple Operation
Simply rotate 90° to close or open the valve.
Economical and efficient
These valves are inexpensive, have a long service life and are available in a wide range of designs and options
Versatile
The valve can withstand high pressures and temperatures. It can withstand pressures of up to 700 bar and temperatures of up to 200°C. The valve can also be used in a wide range of applications.
Easy to repair
Due to its simple design, especially the top inlet, it is easier to fix and assemble than other types of valves.
A ball valve is a type of valve used to control the flow of fluids, gases or other materials in a pipeline. It consists of a spherical ball with a bore through its center, which can be rotated within a valve body to open or close the flow path. When the ball valve is in the closed position, the ball is turned 90 degrees so that the bore is perpendicular to the pipeline, blocking the flow of material. When the valve is in the open position, the ball is rotated so that the bore is aligned with the pipeline, allowing the material to flow through the valve.
Ball valves are commonly used in a wide range of applications including industrial, commercial, and residential applications. They are preferred for their durability, reliability, ease of operation, and ability to control the flow of high-pressure and high-temperature fluids. Ball valves can be manually operated using a handle or lever, or they can be actuated using an electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic actuator for automated control. They are available in various sizes, materials, and designs to suit specific application requirements.
Ball valves have a wide range of applications across various industries due to their versatility, durability, and ease of use. Some common applications of ball valves include:
Industrial Processes: Ball valves are commonly used in industrial applications where high-pressure and high-temperature fluids are involved, such as chemical processing, oil and gas, and power generation.
Water and Wastewater Management: Ball valves are widely used in water and wastewater treatment plants for controlling the flow of water, chemicals, and other materials.
HVAC Systems: Ball valves are used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to regulate the flow of water or air through the system.
Food and Beverage Industry: Ball valves are used in the food and beverage industry for controlling the flow of liquids and gases in various processing stages, such as filling, mixing, and packaging.
Pharmaceutical Industry: Ball valves are used in the pharmaceutical industry for controlling the flow of liquids and gases in various processing stages, such as sterilization, filtration, and packaging.
Agriculture: Ball valves are used in irrigation systems to control the flow of water to crops.
Ball Valve Body
This is the frame of the valve that keeps all the parts intact. This component is connected to the piping in the piping system. The valve body may consist of one, two or three parts.
Ball Valve Actuator
The actuator is located on the outside of the valve body and opens or closes the valve from the outside. Opening can be done manually or automatically.
Ball Valve Ball
The ball is a hollow sphere located in the middle of the valve. When the ball is rotated, the medium may or may not flow through the valve.
Ball Valve Seat
As the name implies, this component secures the ball unit inside the valve. When the valve is closed, the seat provides secondary protection against leakage.
Ball Valve Stem
The stem is the shaft that connects the inner ball to the handle or actuator. This component transmits the motion of the actual quarter turn force from the actuator to the inner ball component.
Ball Valve Bonnet
The bonnet is the housing that covers the packing and stem. This provides three levels of leakage protection.
Ball Valve Packing
The packing prevents the valve from leaking into the external environment.
PVC ball valves
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is the preferred material when used with corrosive media, unless the temperature exceeds 60°C. That said, it is best suited for low-pressure applications.
Stainless Steel Ball Valves
Xhval is a manufacturer of stainless steel ball valves and offers grade 316 ball valves, which are commonly used for high quality valves as they can withstand highly corrosive materials. Medium quality uses 314 grade stainless steel.
Brass Ball Valves
Because brass is a stable alloy, it is the most common ball valve body material. However, valves made of this material should be avoided, especially in chloride solutions, as it will corrode the zinc component of the brass, thus reducing stability.
Pinch valves use a flexible rubber or plastic tube that is pinched closed to regulate fluid flow.
