Product Description

3 Way Globe Valve

A 3-Way Globe Valve is a type of industrial valve that has three openings or ports, allowing it to control the flow of fluid or gas among three different directions. It is commonly used in various applications where diversion or mixing of flow is required. The design of the valve includes a globe-like body with an internal baffle or plug that directs the flow according to the valve's configuration.

The three primary configurations of a 3-Way Globe Valve are:

Mixing Valve: In this configuration, the valve allows the flow from two inlet ports to combine and exit through a single outlet port. It is used when two streams of fluid need to be mixed in a controlled manner.

Diverting Valve: In a diverting configuration, the valve allows the flow from a single inlet port to be directed to one of two outlet ports. It is used to divert the flow between two different destinations.

Universal Valve: The universal configuration is a combination of the mixing and diverting valves. It allows the flow from two inlet ports to be directed to one of two outlet ports, or it can mix the flow from both inlets and discharge it through the third port. This provides a versatile solution for various flow control scenarios.

How do three ways control valves work?

Three-way control valves work by providing three distinct flow paths for fluid or gas, allowing the valve to control the direction and rate of flow among these paths. These valves are commonly used in applications where flow diversion, mixing, or regulation is required. Here's how they work:

Flow Paths: A three-way control valve has three ports - an inlet port (typically labeled "A"), an outlet port (usually labeled "B"), and a third port (commonly labeled "AB" or "M"). The "AB" or "M" port is the common port that connects to the internal passage or chamber of the valve.

Mixing Configuration: In the mixing configuration, the fluid or gas flows from the inlet port (A) and the second inlet port (AB or M) and then combines in the valve's internal chamber. The blended flow then exits through the outlet port (B). By adjusting the position of the valve plug or disc, the flow rate from both inlet ports can be controlled, allowing for precise mixing of the two streams.

Diverting Configuration: In the diverting configuration, the fluid or gas flows from the inlet port (A) and is directed to one of the outlet ports (B or AB/M), depending on the position of the valve plug or disc. By adjusting the valve position, the flow can be diverted between the two outlet ports, providing control over which direction the fluid or gas travels.

Universal Configuration: The universal configuration combines both the mixing and diverting functions. The fluid or gas can flow from either of the two inlet ports (A or AB/M) and be directed to one of the two outlet ports (B or AB/M) or a mixture of both. This provides the most versatile flow control option, allowing for mixing, diverting, or a combination of both.

Control Mechanism: Three-way control valves are often operated using pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic actuators. The position of the valve plug or disc is adjusted based on the signals from a controller or a feedback system, which monitors and regulates the flow, pressure, or temperature in the process.
